Minister of Economy and Trade Amin Salam held a virtual meeting with the head of the Russian Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, Anton Shalaev, who heads the Russian delegation to the Lebanese-Russian Joint Committee for Trade and Economic Cooperation.

They discussed the sectors that should be tackled with stakeholders in the public and private sectors, such as industry, health and energy, in preparation for a meeting of the committee as soon as possible. They also stressed the common concern to boost relationship between the two countries due to its strategic and economic importance.

Minister Salam also met a delegation from the World Bank to discuss the master plan and vision for ports in Lebanon. They talked about the opportunities available to stimulate economic recovery, and the role that the Port of Beirut could play. They also discussed the reestablishment of grain silos.
