Caretaker Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, tweeted this evening in response to the statement by the Union of Bakeries, assuring that “enough wheat has entered the country to suffice its needs for more than a month,” deeming that “placing the instigators of crises behind bars is the only solution.”

He added: “Embezzling public funds, undermining food security and stealing people’s bread constitutes a destabilization of national security, especially in these delicate circumstances.”
