The UN Security Council on Monday urged the new Lebanese government to implement known, necessary reforms quickly and transparently.

The Security Council stressed, in a statement, the need for a prompt, independent and comprehensive investigation for the explosion of Beirut port.

He also stressed the importance of holding free, fair, transparent and inclusive elections in Lebanon in 2022.​
