Snow blocks mountainous roads in Lebanon

Storms continue in Lebanon amid low temperatures and frost waves that hit various Lebanese regions, and meteorologists expect the unstable weather to continue, intermittently, until the middle of next week.

Informed sources indicated to “Al-Nahar” that “the weather will begin to improve gradually, starting from Wednesday.”

In this context, the Traffic Control Room reported that these mountain roads are cut off due to the accumulation of snow:

  • Dahr El-Baydar road is cut off due to a number of vehicles slipping
  • Jezzine Road – Kfarhouna
  • Tarshish – Zahle Road
  • Shebaa Road – Ain Atta
  • Aynata – Arez

In addition, TMC warns of the danger of slipping cars and the formation of ice, starting this afternoon in mountainous areas.

The “Traffic Control” room also asked citizens “due to the stormy weather and wind speed, not to park their vehicles near trees or billboards or to stop near beaches and not to go to mountainous areas before inquiring about the condition of the roads.”
