The “Strong Republic” bloc on Friday held a meeting via Zoom app chaired by Lebanese Forces Party leader, Samir Geagea, to deliberate on the formation of the government and the ministerial statement and to take a position on the Parliament’s confidence vote session scheduled for next Monday on the 20th of this month.
Geagea listened to the interventions of the bloc’s members regarding the government formation, the ministerial statement and the nature of the upcoming stage.
After the meeting, the “Strong Republic” bloc issued a statement in which it welcomed any step which leads to stability and alleviates the sufferings of the Lebanese and the stifling financial crisis as well as puts a stop to the ongoing collapse.
However, the statement added that despite welcoming any positive measure that can be achieved, the bloc considers that the team which led Lebanon to crisis, isolation and tragedy is unable to get the country out of it.
The statement went to say that the bloc’s position over the entire path of designation and government formation has not changed for the past two years to date, because the forces controlling such designation and formation are still the same.
The statement announced that the bloc as such will withhold confidence from the government, stressing that the bloc’s goal has been and still is to build the state.
