In a statement, the Banque du Liban extended the effects of Basic Circular No. 161 until February 2022, subject to renewal.

The statement stated:

“The Central Council of the Banque du Liban held a meeting today headed by Governor Riad Salameh, in which it was approved to extend the effects of Basic Circular No. 161 until the end of February 2022, subject to renewal.

The governor also confirmed that dealing in US dollar banknotes against Lebanese pound banknotes continues with banks on the price of the “Sayrafa” platform.
