The black market dollar recorded this Wednesday morning, 32200 -32300 Lebanese pounds, while observers expect it to rise in the coming hours amid a state of confusion prevailing in the Lebanese street.

In a related context, International Monetary Fund spokesman Jerry Rice said that the fund is assessing the size of the losses of the financial sector in Lebanon, which its officials announced to amount to 69 billion dollars, adding that “significant progress” has been made in determining the losses.

Adding that preliminary technical discussions are continuing with the Lebanese authorities to lay the groundwork, for a program supported by the Fund.

Rice emphasized that any strategy to deal with these losses needs to be combined, of course, with the implementation of comprehensive reforms to restore confidence, strengthen investment incentives, and enhance governance and transparency.
