The Head of the Land Transport Sector Federations and Unions Bassam Tlais confirmed in a radio interview that the “economic crisis will continue to worsen as long as the solutions are delayed, and that the hurdles will never be resolved without supporting the land transport sector.”

Tlais said that Prime Minister Najib Mikati has approved the agreement with the previous government, and an execution mechanism will be developed in this regard. “He pledged that this support will be enacted in the Council of Minister,” said Tlais.

Tlais explained that the agreement with the government will be to secure the ration card for drivers, which involves paying 500,000 LBP for public car drivers per month for spare parts, and securing a gasoline canister at a maximum price of 100,000 LBP for their cars.
