The Public Truck Owners’ Syndicate at Beirut Port announced in a statement on Thursday that under the prevailing circumstances, “nothing will save truck owners from the current disaster except for opting to charge truck  transportation fees in fresh US dollars — similar to the payment method of sea transport services and other fees that are being paid in fresh US dollars.”

Consequently, the Public Truck Owners’ Syndicate at Beirut Port has decided to stop work until a realistic solution is found that could spare the sector the grave losses it has been incurring. The syndicate also demanded compensations for the Port blast damage repair fees and requested payments in fresh US dollars.
