The UAE decided to withdraw its diplomats from Lebanon in solidarity with Saudi Arabia, and advised its citizens not to travel to Lebanon.
For its part, Kuwait has also asked the Lebanese ambassador to leave the country within 48 hours, and summoned its ambassador from Lebanon.
It pointed out that “the decision regarding Lebanon came after the persistence of negative statements from Lebanese officials, and after not addressing the rejected and reprehensible stances against Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council.”
In this context, press information stated that “the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council will take a decision similar to the decision taken by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait in terms of expelling the Lebanese ambassadors, and summoning their ambassadors from Lebanon.”
