Union and workers of Tripoli municipality suspend their strike

Tripoli’s municipality union and workers issued the following statement:
First, we would like to thank the workers of Tripoli Municipality, its employees, the police, and all the municipality’s workers, and we would like to thank the mayor and members of the Tripoli Municipality who took the initiative to take the decision to aid in the amount of three million Lebanese pounds.
We also thank President Najib Mikati, Minister of Interior and Municipalities Judge Bassam Mawlawi, Lieutenant-Colonel Ayman Machmouchi, President Bechara Al-Asmar, Captain Shadi Al-Sayed, and all the captains and brothers who helped complete this transaction and ratify it quickly so that the decision can be implemented.
And the biggest thanks to the union leader, Omar Dalal, who worked day and night, and proved to be the right man in the right place, to reach the results that satisfy everyone.
We inform you, that in light of good intentions’ initiative, we will suspend the strike, and not cancel it completely, not a final cancellation, and we will continue with the rest of the demands within the legal frameworks, and we will follow up with the mayor, the municipal council and the Minister of Interior the process of the rest of the demands, especially the issue of medical pricing, hospitalization, family compensation, exceptional grades, salary and wages adjustment, and the file of daily-workers in the municipality of Tripoli.
we will return starting tomorrow morning, Saturday, to our work to serve the city of Tripoli and its people.
