The United States hoped that diplomatic channels between Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies on one side, and Lebanon on the other side, would remain opened, while restoring relations.
US State Department spokesman Ned Price announced that he “believes that diplomatic relations, and channels of communication between Lebanon and its partners, must remain open.”
Lebanon which is already witnessing an economic collapse, is facing an outburst of anger from Gulf Arab states after a sharp criticism of the kingdom, issued by the Information Minister Georges Qordahi.
