The boxes decided the names of the winners in the Zahle district, and they are: Head of the “Independent Sovereigns” list, MP Michel Daher for the Catholic seat, and from the “Lebanese Forces” list, George Okeis for the Catholic seat, Elias Stephan for the Greek Orthodox seat, Bilal Al-Hashimi for the Sunni seat, and from the list of the “Lebanese Forces” for the Catholic seat. The Alliance and Hezbollah are MP Salim Aoun for the Maronite seat, George Bushkian for the Armenian Orthodox seat, and Rami Abu Hamdan for the Shiite seat.

Today, Monday, the process of counting the votes in the parliamentary elections continues, pending the appearance of the final line-up for the 128-member parliament.

Preliminary results also indicated that at least five other independents who campaigned on the basis of a reform program won.

And the Lebanese Interior Minister, Bassam Mawlawi, said in a press conference that the turnout of voters inside the country in the parliamentary elections that took place on Sunday was 41%.

He added that the electoral authorities will issue at a later time the final participation rate, which includes the votes of Lebanese abroad.
