In response to Minister Charbel Wehbe’s letter submitted today to President Michel Aoun stipulating his exemption from his ministerial responsibilities, following his offensive statements to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the subsequent reactions against his racist statements, the Minister of Defense, Zeina Akar, has accepted to take office of her new position as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The decree was subsequently sent to Baabda Palace from the Council of Ministers’ General Secretariat.
