Tayyar losing 3000 votes in Metn…Heading towards losing Parliamentary seat

A state of confusion prevails in the nominations made by the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Gebran Bassil, for the parliamentary elections scheduled for May 15, and Basil was not up to the promises he made to his candidates, as everyone wants to run, while the Tayyar’s situation does not allow everyone to win, even the “hawks” whose percentage of victory is not guaranteed. .

According to experts in the parliamentary elections, Bassil fell victim to his promises, and was no longer able to retreat for fear of any instability within the movement, something he cannot bear, especially at the stage of the trend’s declining popularity, as it set about weaving an electoral alliance with its archenemy Nabih Berri through Hezbollah, to limit the loss he would suffer in some constituencies, and to compensate for the seats he would lose.

Sources confirm to “Sawt Beirut International” website, that Bassil, after resolving the satet of separation with Representative Elias Bou Saab, promising him the position of Deputy Speaker of Parliament as an alternative to Elie Ferzli, Basil’s promise to Bou Saab will not be fulfilled if the latter does not win the elections, and this means according to the sources, Bassil promised Bou Saab that the movement’s votes would be directed to him and the candidate, MP Ibrahim Kanaan, who constitutes the backbone of the movement in the Metn.

Also according to experts, MP Edy Maalouf is out of the competition, despite the leaks that Bassil wants to break the Lebanese Forces candidate, Melhem Riachy, and this is a very difficult matter, and any attempt by Bassil to enter start a war against Riachi is not guaranteed, and exposes the rest of the movement’s candidates to the risk of losing. And thus, the Tayyar will focus on Bou Saab and Kanaan, especially since it lost the votes of Sarkis Sarkis and Mukheiber, and this means the movement lost nearly 3000 votes, compared to the previous parliamentary elections in 2018, in a time polls do not indicate any progress in the Metn, rather on the contrary, it has regressed significantly, and is on its way to losing a parliamentary seat in this constituency.
