None of these people adressed the problem directly, that is the harm that Lebanon and its government inflicted on the international community, especially the US and the Gulf states represented by Saudi Arabia.
A source close to the US administration indicates that everyone is mistaken in approaching Washington’s stance on Mikati’s government, and in explaining the American stances issued regarding Lebanon.
The source added to “Sawt Beirut International”, “Washington’s silence does not mean a sign of satisfaction with the Lebanese government, because the US administration does not interfere in the Lebanese affairs’ details, as some think, but its role is to monitor and evaluate performance in accordance with Washington’s vision for the region.”
It added that Washington is not optimistic about the current government, because it was formed in the same manner of previous governments, and this does not encourage the administration of US President Joe Biden to stand by it, but it considers that the presence of a government is better than nothing, because there should be a government to manage people’s affairs.
The source confirms that there is no financial aid to Lebanon except for the support of the Lebanese army, and did not exert anypressure on the countries that want to help Lebanon. The matter is up to France, and the US administration is waiting for French President Emmanuel Macron to succeed in his mission amid American doubts about his success, because the main problem is Hezbollah’s weapons.
On another hand, an informed source indicated that the same is true forRiyadh, as Saudi Arabia does not see any salvation for Lebanon, because of the Iranian occupation represented by Hezbollah and its dominant and destabilizing weapons.
Adding to “Sawt Beirut International” website, that “Hezbollah controls Lebanon, this is how Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states summarize the Lebanese scene, and any rescue or assistance operation will only take place by liberating Lebanon from this hegemony, that harmed Lebanon’s relationship with Saudi Arabia, which considers itself not concerned with this ruling class, and has no hope in the current authority.
